Cyberpunk 2077 Adds Edgerunners 2 Content in Free Update

CD Projekt Red released the free Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22 for PC, Mac via Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions will follow later.

The update ties into Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which premiered on Netflix on October 20. A new side quest called Clampdown is set before the anime and unlocks after completing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako. In the mission, V meets Weak Kingsley and enters Night City Prison. The quest rewards a five-piece gear set based on the character King, and Xbox Wire says players can also collect Weak's outfit and his revolver Coronation.

Dual wielding is added through the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, letting V equip two Power pistols or revolvers. Five Glamdoc shops can reskin hand cyberware such as Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or Projectile Launch System with unique colors; Xbox Wire says there are 40 styles in different colors. The update also adds some hairstyles that were previously exclusive to NPCs, some limited to feminine or masculine body types, and Xbox Wire says there are 20 new hairstyles, plus a radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, with music from the Edgerunners series.

Five new outfit sets appear at vendors: Maxiwear in Heywood, Arroyo and Little China; Jinguji in City Center; NetWatch in Kabuki and Japantown; IconAmerica in Pacifica, Badlands and Northside; a fifth set arrives later. The NUS Infiltrator set is sold in Kabuki and Japantown, and four Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech TWINTONE skins are available through Twitch Drops. Photo Mode adds frames from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game and poses for dual wielding.

Cross-platform mod support, powered by mod.io, lets players browse and install selected community mods from the in-game menu on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. A guided tour side quest named Welcome to Paradise is narrated by Richard Night and unlocks after The Heist and level 15 Street Cred. Twelve new Minor Arcana tarot cards extend the Fool on the Hill quest.

Quality-of-life improvements group saves by playthrough, add filters to item stashes, mark modded saves with an icon, add an FOV slider on consoles, and update AMD FSR options. The patch adds DLSS 4.5 with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation, MetalFX Frame Interpolation, FSR Anti-Lag 2, and performance optimizations for ray tracing and PS5 Pro. It also fixes a Switch 2 save error, a PS5 HDR issue, and a Delamain cab quest blocker.

Cyberpunk 2077 now supports Xbox Play Anywhere, letting one digital purchase work on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC with cross-save, according to Xbox Wire. On Steam, the game is 70% off until October 26, according to Steam Deck HQ.
