Motorola announced the Signature 27 on Thursday, November 5, calling it a step toward a premium phone. The company said the device has its most advanced camera system and next-generation agentic AI. It will go on sale November 26 for $1,599 in PANTONE Coal Smoke and Capulent Olive, Android Central reported.
The Signature 27 has a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display that can reach 12,000 nits of peak brightness. Motorola says the panel is 34% more efficient and delivers "exceptional sharpness, contrast and precision." It is the company's first phone with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, and Motorola says the ArcticMesh cooling system is roughly 40% larger in the Signature 27, which helps keep the device cooler over longer gaming sessions or video watching.
For cameras, Motorola says the Signature 27 carries its "best ever" system. The rear setup includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 100x AI-powered zoom. Motorola states the periscope lens will "preserve natural color, sharpness and details even at extreme distances." Users can choose zoom levels from 1x to 50x before reaching 100x. A dedicated EVS action sensor works with Action Shot to "freeze motion" in photos. The front camera is 50MP.
Battery life gets a large 7,000mAh cell with 90W wired fast charging. The Signature 27 also has Audio by Bang & Olufsen, an aluminum frame that meets MIL-STD-810H, and IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance. Motorola says the phone will receive seven years of OS upgrades and fully supports GrapheneOS, with more details to come.
The phone includes Google Gemini Intelligence, according to Motorola.
Motorola's earlier premium efforts included foldable Razr phones. In April 2025, the company announced the $1,300 Razr Ultra with a 4-inch cover display, 7-inch internal screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 4,700mAh battery. The Signature 27 offers different specs and a higher $1,599 price.
