The 6.8-inch Android 17 phone packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 7,000mAh battery and 200MP telephoto camera; pre-order dates differ by source.

Motorola officially announced the Signature 27 for the US on Thursday, with a 512GB storage and 12GB RAM configuration priced at $1,599. Pre-order timing is reported differently: 9to5Google says pre-orders opened Thursday with a November 19 launch, while The Verge and Android Headlines say pre-orders open November 19 and the phone goes on sale November 26. Motorola has not confirmed carrier launches, and 9to5Google reports the US units are "universally unlocked".
The Signature 27 runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, the only configuration for North America. Its 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display is a tandem OLED panel with a 2772x1272 resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 12,000 nits. The device measures 162.01 x 77.04 x 7.99mm and weighs 227g. Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protects the screen, according to 9to5Google.
The camera array includes a 50MP main sensor using Sony's Lytia L910 with LOFIC technology, a 50MP ultrawide with a 122-degree field of view, and a 50MP front-facing camera. A 200MP periscope telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. There is also a dedicated Event Vision Sensor for action shots; Motorola says it will help "capture fast-moving subjects with greater clarity and precision".

The battery is a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon cell, which Motorola says supports 90W wired charging. The phone does not have built-in Qi2 magnets, and wireless charging speeds top out at 50W on Motorola's charger. The audio system is tuned by Bang & Olufsen and includes coaxial stereo speakers and five microphones. The Signature 27 ships with Android 17 and is promised seven years of OS upgrades and security updates. It supports GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused operating system, and includes Gemini Intelligence features such as Gboard Rambler, Create My Widget, app automation and Sign-To-Text ASL translation. The Verge called GrapheneOS support "a first for Motorola, and for a mainstream phone sold in the US".

The Signature 27 comes in "Coal Smoke" and "Capulet Olive" colors. It will be sold by Motorola, Amazon and Best Buy, and none of the major carriers have confirmed carrying the device. 9to5Google says Canada is not included at launch, and Android Headlines quotes Motorola as saying there is "no availability in Canada at this time". Buyers who pre-order from Motorola.com for a limited time can get a free Moto Watch Ultra and a year of motocare extended warranty, according to 9to5Google. The Verge notes that Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra with 512GB storage also costs $1,599, but Samsung offers a 256GB variant for $1,399.
