GTA 6 launches November 19 on consoles, PC still unannounced

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games has confirmed the date and opened pre-orders. In the US, the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99. In India, the Standard Edition is listed at Rs 5,999 and the Ultimate Edition at Rs 7,499. The Ultimate Edition includes extra vehicles, clothing, weapons, and customization options. Rockstar has not announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC versions for launch.

The PC release date remains open. MMOEXP reported that VGC podcast host Andy Robinson said there was "a bit of noise" in the industry suggesting Rockstar could bring the PC version forward, but Robinson gave no date or source. On October 2, 80.lv reported that the PC launch is set for Q1 2027, citing four industry sources familiar with Rockstar's plans; the outlet cautioned that Rockstar has not announced a PC release date. Rockstar has historically launched major Grand Theft Auto titles on consoles first. Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC on April 14, 2015, after its console launch in September 2013, according to 80.lv. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said Rockstar focuses on its core audience first rather than launching every platform version at once.

Multiplayer timing has also drawn attention. DayOne reported that Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said in a Bloomberg interview: "You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer". DayOne interpreted that as GTA 6 Online releasing in 2027. 80.lv also reported that Clancy mentioned the multiplayer will launch next year, in 2027. Rockstar has only discussed a single-player campaign so far.

The release date itself moved twice. Rockstar first targeted 2025, then shifted to May 26, 2026, and then to November 19, 2026. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, confirmed the current date in November 2025, according to Brut. Physical copies will contain a download code rather than a game disc, and digital pre-orders can start downloading from November 12, 2026.

The game returns to Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida, with protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Rockstar released a 26-minute gameplay video in August 2026, captured on PS5, and has described the game as a single-player experience. The footage showed crowded streets, vehicles, wildlife, interiors, and beaches.

For PC players, November 19 will not bring Grand Theft Auto VI. Polygon reported on September 26 that an early-access game called Phantom Vice Auto from Brgames Interactive will launch on Steam that same day, set in a Miami-style metropolis.
