Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is officially available today, according to Gizmodo. Gizmodo reported that Apple Stores were packed for the launch, including at the flagship Fifth Avenue location in New York City. The phone is expected to cost roughly $2,000, although Apple has not published an official price; that figure comes from a hands-on review brief cited by Gadget Review.
The iPhone Duo has the smallest folded footprint among its main rivals, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold, according to hands-on observations, though Apple has not released official folded dimensions. The device weighs 254 grams, heavier than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, based on the same hands-on brief. Samsung's official spec page lists the Galaxy Z Fold8 at 123.9 × 81.9 × 9.7 mm folded and 201 grams. Google's official listing puts the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at 155.2 × 76 × 10.1 mm folded and 239 grams.
The iPhone Duo's inner display measures 7.6 inches diagonally, according to Apple's technical page, and a hands-on review brief reports a 1.4:1 aspect ratio. The cover screen is 5.4 inches and delivers about 90% of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro, according to Gizmodo's comparison. Apple's nano-texture inner finish is designed to reduce reflections, and hands-on observers report it makes the fold crease less visible than on the Samsung and Google foldables. For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 has a 7.6-inch inner display, while Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold has an 8-inch inner display. Samsung's official spec page lists a 5.4-inch outer display, though Gizmodo describes it as 5.5 inches; Google lists a 6.5-inch cover screen.

On the software side, Apple moved the dock from the bottom to the right side of the cover display, and repositioned menus and buttons for apps built for the iPhone Duo. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 cover screen works like a standard Android phone. Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold runs Android 17.
Battery specifications differ. Samsung lists a 4,800 mAh battery for the Z Fold8, and Google lists 4,806 mAh for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Apple has not published an official battery specification for the iPhone Duo, according to Gadget Review. Camera and durability comparisons across the three devices are still pending, but the Pixel 11 Pro Fold includes a 48 MP main camera, 10.8 MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom and 10.5 MP ultrawide, per Google's listing.
The inquiry follows reports that Huang had a romantic relationship with a Megaspeed executive U.S. officials say was recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security.
Apple's first foldable starts at $1,999 and opened preorders on October 16. CNET's machine has folded it over 260,000 times, and Trend Micro warns about fake ordering sites.
