The $299 7-inch hub recognizes up to six people, controls Matter devices, and launches November 13; LG cameras, locks, and thermostats arrive in December.

As of October 14, Apple is taking preorders for the HomeView, a $299 smart home display, and has announced a line of smart home accessories built with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Preorders began October 13, the same day Apple unveiled the device. The HomeView launches on November 13 in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, and New Zealand, while the LG and Schneider products begin arriving in December. The wall-mounted version is also $299 but requires a separate Schneider Home mount, pushing the entry price to $358.95 with the cheapest USB-C mount. Apple says HomeView is not available in the European Union because Siri AI remains unavailable there.
Apple has a mixed smart home history, with the HomePod speaker struggling against Amazon's Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously reported that Apple was developing a tabletop home device and could eventually add a robotic arm. On October 11, 2026, Gurman leaked details of the new product, including the HomeView name, according to MacRumors.
On October 13, Apple announced HomeView at its Welcome Home event. The device has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, an A18 processor, and speakers in an aluminum base with a stainless steel tilting hinge. It runs Siri AI and can recognize up to six people by face, switching to each person's own apps, messages, calendar, and preferred settings. A second model, HomeView Wall Mounted, is slimmer and intended for entryways or hallways.
HomeView doubles as a communication and entertainment device. It supports FaceTime, Messages, Calendar, Music, Podcasts, and third-party audio and video apps from an iPhone, with a 12MP Center Stage camera for video calls. Apple says it is especially useful in kitchens, offering recipe conversion, hands-free timers, and ingredient tracking. The device also serves as a smart home dashboard, showing up to nine live camera feeds and controlling lights, locks, and thermostats via Siri or the touchscreen.

Apple's new Home Collection accessories, built with LG and Schneider Electric, include four cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, and thermostats. The LG Video Doorbell costs $249.95, the Floodlight Cam $399.95, an outdoor camera $299.95, an indoor camera $199.95, and the Smart Deadbolt Lock $349.95. Thermostats from LG and Schneider start at $199.95, and humidity sensors cost $39.95. All can be set up with a tap in the Apple Home app and work with Matter. Apple also says it partners with ADT for optional professional installation through U.S. Apple Retail stores.

Apple emphasizes privacy, saying HomeView uses Secure Exclaves on the A18 chip to isolate camera and microphone data, and Siri requests are handled on-device or through Private Cloud Compute. HomeKit Secure Video features, including familiar face and package recognition, require an iCloud+ subscription; AI-generated video descriptions and natural-language video search require the 2TB iCloud+ plan at $9.99 per month in the U.S.. Out-of-warranty repair costs $279, while AppleCare+ costs $2.49 per month and reduces repair fees to $39 per incident.
