The CPSC says the DR-HSH015 ceramic heater sold at Costco, Best Buy, Kohl's and other retailers can overheat and ignite; DREO is offering free replacements.

DREO is recalling its DR-HSH015 space heater because the units can overheat and ignite, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. CNET reported the recall on Monday and said more than 370,000 units were sold in the U.S. and Canada. KXAN, citing the CPSC, put U.S. sales at about 338,800 and Canadian sales at roughly 36,300. DREO is conducting the recall voluntarily, according to SILive.
The recalled product is the DREO Omnidirectional Heater, model DR-HSH015. This black ceramic electric heater stands 13 inches tall, sold for $100 and came with a remote control. Only heaters made from April 2025 through January 2026 are included. The model number and date code are printed on a label at the bottom of the heater; if both match the recall, the unit is affected.
Dreo said it received 17 reports of the heaters igniting. Three reports involved property damage and one involved a burn injury to a hand. The CPSC said the heaters can overheat and ignite, “posing fire and burn hazards”. DREO described the issue as overheating and fire risks.
Costco announced a national recall, according to SILive. SILive said Costco carried the heaters from September 2025 to February 2026, while KXAN cited a CPSC notice with sales from September 2025 through October 2026 at Costco and other retailers. CNET said the unit was still available in October 2026 from Home Depot, Best Buy, Kohl’s and Costco, and KXAN added Lowe’s and QVC as additional sellers.
Owners should immediately stop using the recalled heaters, unplug them, and cut the power cord to disable the heater before contacting DREO for a free replacement. To reach DREO, call toll-free 833-820-0887 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., send an email to spaceheater@realtimeresults.net, or go to recallrtr.com/spaceheater.
