Apple has started rolling out iOS 27.2 to iPhone users after a month of beta testing, according to BGR. The update follows iOS 27.1, which Apple reserved for the iPhone Duo, 9to5Mac reported. BGR said the release is available for all iPhone models, including the new foldable.

The update adds new languages for Siri AI. BGR reported that Siri AI now supports six languages beyond English, including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. 9to5Mac also noted improved Siri AI features and additional language support in iPadOS 27.2.

Group FaceTime gets Dual Capture. The feature was previously limited to one-to-one calls; now, SSBCrack News reports, compatible iPhones can record video from both the back and front cameras at the same time on group calls. BGR reported that Apple says the feature activates automatically when a user flips to the rear camera, and that users can tap "Hide Front Camera" to return to a standard view.

The Apple TV app adds profiles on iPhone. According to SSBCrack News, users can create separate profiles to tailor movie and show recommendations. BGR reported that a profile requires a name, profile rating, and whether it is for a child. SSBCrack News noted that profiles were previously available only on tvOS.

The Messages app gains a suggestions feature. SSBCrack News described one-tap options that analyze conversation context to set reminders or add calendar events. 9to5Mac referred to the feature as Suggested Actions.

The Apple Podcasts app splits the Up Next queue into two areas: New Episodes for latest episodes from subscribed channels, and Continue Playing for episodes a user was actively listening to, according to SSBCrack News. 9to5Mac said the Up Next queue gets revamped.

The Home app adds new lock controls. SSBCrack News reported that Lock After Closing automatically locks doors after they have been shut for a set duration, and Door Left Open alerts when a door stays open too long. BGR reported a separate HomePod fix: a new Lock Control setting in the Home app can disable touch controls on the speaker to prevent ghost touches that caused random playback or volume changes. Apple had not admitted the bug before, according to BGR.

Apple Music gets a new look. BGR described the logo as white with black notes, replacing the traditional pink background, with pink shades removed from the app in favor of blue or black. BGR quoted Oliver Schusser, who is Beats president and vice president of Apple Music, saying "a lot more to offer soon."

The sources differ on the Health app. SSBCrack News reported that iOS 27.2 includes a redesigned Health app with Insights, Longevity, and Browse sections. BGR reported that Apple reverted to the old Health app interface in beta 4 and still plans a proper release later this year.

Apple also released iPadOS 27.2, according to 9to5Mac. The iPad update includes a Mac-style Siri shortcut for users with a trackpad or mouse: selecting text shows a Siri icon that can be hovered over to type a Siri request about the selection. 9to5Mac also listed Apple Books design updates with new menus and easier bookmarking.

Update, October 26, 2026

Apple confirmed the update reached users on October 26, 2026, according to ASO World, which also reported that the build closes more than 160 security holes; Apple said none had been exploited. The same outlet detailed a larger Siri AI upgrade: the assistant can reference earlier exchanges and pull context from Messages photos, Calendar attendees, and voicemails. That capability needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer and remains withheld in the European Union and mainland China, while the expanded language list includes French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. ASO World also notes Multiview arrives in the Apple TV app on iPhone for watching as many as four live sports feeds at once, and new SynthID watermarks appear on images that Image Playground or Photos heavily edits. In five EU countries, the App Tracking Transparency prompt gains an expanded version and yearly re-consent. A redesigned Health app shown in beta did not ship in this release.

Update, October 27, 2026

Apple has backported a security fix to iOS 18 for a vulnerability that may have been exploited, TechCrunch reported. Apple said the flaw may have been used “in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on versions of iOS before iOS 27,” but did not say who was behind it. Apple also backported many of the more than 160 fixes in iOS 27.2 to iOS 26, according to TechCrunch.
