The global update reaches Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones and tablets in three waves through December, adding a Soft Light Glass design and faster app launches.

Xiaomi started the global rollout of HyperOS 4 on November 3, 2026, bringing Android 17 to eligible Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices through December. The update covers 82 phones and tablets in three waves, according to the company's official schedule. The rollout follows a global beta program that began in September and initially targeted a handful of flagships.
HyperOS 4 introduces a "Soft Light Glass" visual engine with translucent panels, layered notifications, redesigned lock screens, and additional customization options. Android Headlines reports an AI optimization tool that tracks daily app usage to speed up app startups by up to 20 percent. NPowerUser adds that Super XiaoAi 2.0 brings AI voice notes, live speech translation, and conversational scheduling, and that kernel optimizations deliver 17.5 percent faster app launches and 28.9 percent fewer UI frame drops. Android Headlines also notes smoother floating windows and better screen orientation handling on tablets.
Rollout waves differ slightly across reports. Android Headlines says the first wave includes the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi 15, and several budget Poco models. NPowerUser's Phase 1 list includes only Xiaomi 17 flagships, Redmi K100 and K90 models, plus Xiaomi Pad 8, Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, and Redmi K Pad tablets, while putting the Xiaomi 15 in the mid-November wave. The second wave in mid-November adds devices like the Xiaomi Pad Mini and Poco F9 series. For December, Android Headlines lists the Xiaomi 13T from 2022, while NPowerUser's schedule includes the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro.
Users who do not see the update right away should check again over the next few days as servers roll out local downloads. NPowerUser advises going to Settings > About Phone, tapping the HyperOS Version icon, keeping at least 10GB of free storage, and ensuring the battery is above 50 percent before installing. Android Headlines notes that opening device settings and manually checking for software updates is the best way to get the installation file early.
Xiaomi's HyperOS 4.0 rollout may not mean Android 17 for every device. Heise online reported on Wednesday that the company can ship the new interface with an older Android release, such as Android 16, depending on the model; the newest devices are likely to receive Android 17. Xiaomi said on X: “Eligible users will receive the OTA update in stages starting today”. The first batch includes Poco F8, X8 and M8 series plus Redmi Note 17 and Note 15 series in early November, followed in mid-November by Xiaomi 15T, Pad 7, Poco Pad X1 and M1, and Poco F9, F7 and X7 models. December devices include Xiaomi 13, 13T, 14 and 14T series, Mix Flip, Redmi Note 14 series, Redmi 15 and various Poco phones. Heise also notes the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, expected globally in November, will come with HyperOS 4.0 based on Android 17 preinstalled.
